We have been offering our clients Composite Shoes since 2020.  The technology and development behind this type of shoe is very advanced when compared to traditional shoeing methods.  Unlike the old steel shoes, a hoof will come out of a composite shoe after 4 or 5 weeks healthier than when the shoe was first applied.  This is because the hoof can bend and flex in the rubber shoe, enabling it to function correctly and develop, while giving the hoof the added protection that it needs.

We love using these rubber shoes as a tool for rehab cases, for correcting poor bony column alignment in the horse, or rebuilding heals or sole.  They are an invaluable tool too when working with laminitic cases.

These shoes are made of rubber and depending on which supplier we get them from, they are either 3-D printed or made from moulds.  The glue we use can be as straightforward as superglue, or where the wall of the hoof is compromised, we may need to use an acrylic glue or even casting material and caste the shoe onto the hoof.
